Man painting the Eiffel Tower without a safety belt more than 900 feet above Paris, 1953. One of Riboud’s best known images is Eiffel Tower Painter, published in LIFE Magazine in 1953 (seen at right).
“The painter, known as Zazou, is at ease, I felt dizzy and I closed my eyes every time he bent over to dip his brush.” - M.R

I love looking at the contact sheets of photographers, which negative they chose to print. Its also a way to evaluate the skill of a photographer, the way they frame their shots, or if their iconic shot was just haphazard. I wish every gallery show had contact sheets in those glass cabinets in the middle of the room.
